Meeting all your counseling needs

  • Dr. Norma Garcia

    LCSW & REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST

Hi! I’m Norma, founder and clinical director of the Family Counseling Center.

I founded this center to create a culturally sensitive space where the Latino community can break generational cycles and build strong, healthy family relationships.

For the past 17 years, I’ve worked with hundreds of children and parents in both individual and group therapy, helping people navigate depression, anxiety, life transitions, family conflict, child abuse, domestic violence, and many other challenges.

In May 2025, I earned a Doctorate of Education in Executive Leadership in Mental Health from Houston Christian University, further strengthening my ability to lead, advocate, and serve the mental health needs of our community.

Today, I focus on helping children, teens, and parents heal, feel empowered, and recognize their inner strengths. I’m passionate about raising awareness, normalizing access to mental health services, empowering women, and encouraging consistent self-care practices.

As a mom of three, I deeply understand the joys and challenges of parenting. Outside of therapy, I love playing board games like UNO, Battleship, Don’t Break the Ice, and Lotería. I’ll always choose a funny movie—because I love to laugh.

  • Madeline Perez

    LMSW

Hello! My name is Madeline, but you can call me Madi. I received my bachelor’s in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). I went on to complete my master’s in social work at UTA with a specialization in mental health. I am now a Licensed Master Social Worker and am eager to continue to grow as a professional.

During my undergraduate internship, I discovered my love for the therapeutic setting and continued to seek opportunities in this area. I have always been passionate about serving my community which is why I am intentional in surrounding myself with individuals who inspire me to grow and give back. My passion for my career is fueled by the change I am able to recognize in client’s throughout their time in therapy.

Outside of my profession, you can find me creating digital and mixed media art. Being a first generation Mexican-American has inspired me to learn more about my culture, which is why you will often find me traveling to Mexico. Having the ability to merge my passions with my career created a lifelong opportunity to curate my approach to therapy.

  • Leslie Troche

    MSW Intern - UT Arlington

    Hi, I’m Leslie!

I’m an Arlington native with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker, practicing under the supervision of Norma Garcia. As a bilingual therapist, I’m committed to creating a space where people feel genuinely seen, accepted, and comfortable being themselves.

I focus much of my work on supporting adolescents as they navigate challenges like anxiety, identity, and family changes. Additionally, I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families, helping them build stronger connections and find healing in their own way. I believe healing starts when we feel safe to be our true selves, and I’m grateful to be a part of that process with my clients.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading a good book, enjoying indoor cycling, or spending time with friends and family.
